We really enjoyed our stay!
We enjoyed staying at Water’s Edge – Barrier Dunes #177.  The kitchen was well appointed. We cooked a full Thanksgiving meal and did not have to buy additional equipment/utensils, etc.  We appreciated having the washer/dryer upstairs and there were plenty of linens and towels.  The access to the beach was very good and the community of Barrier Dunes was very quiet, friendly and inviting.

The beach chairs and sand cart were very much appreciated.  We donated a beach umbrella to the beach gear.

We were surprised to see an armadillo sniffing through the grass outside of our unit!  The bird watching was good for this time of year.  We saw a bald eagle and then later saw three American white pelicans (somewhat rare) as well as other typical shore birds.  Of course, the sunsets were amazing – they always are at the Cape. A few porpoises were corralling fish just beyond the sand bar and provided quite a show.

It was great to get to the Cape during Thanksgiving and we appreciate the amenities offered by #177.
We had a great vacation
Wendy thank you for everything that you did to help us get a mini vacation.

Cape Escape Vacation Rentals was extremely easy to work with.  Wendy made sure that we had all the information that we needed prior to our arrival on the cape and at Barrier Dunes, Waters Edge.  The nicest part besides being at the beach was that for our short stay we did not need to worry about essentials, paper towels, toilet paper cooking spices etc.  More importantly. we did not need to bring our own linens they were provided for humans and our pets.   The condo was steps away from the beach and the park where we could snorkel and my son could fish.  Beach chairs were ready and anything else you could want was waiting!  Thank you so much for an excellent mini vacation!
We had a WONDERFUL time and Cape San Blas is now OFFICIALLY OUR FAVORITE BEACH
Hi Wendy……we had a WONDERFUL time and Cape San Blas is now OFFICIALLY OUR FAVORITE BEACH of anywhere we have been before.  It was great to be able to take our “doggie daughter” with us instead of worry about her being away from her family.  The Waters Edge was just beautiful and more well equipped than my home! We had everything we needed down to a muffin pan. We had trouble with the TV (only because we are not technologically savvy) and the manager on site was ringing our doorbell within 30 seconds of calling her.  We will definitely be back!  Thanks for everything!
Enjoyed Barrier Dunes and your condo was perfect and above our expectations.

We really enjoyed Barrier Dunes and your condo was perfect and above our expectations.  We used the upper balcony to enjoy an evening glass of wine and watch the sunset.

Fergus (the dog) loved his early morning beach runs and would then happily sit on the deck with his nose between the rungs watching the world go by.  As tennis players, it was nice to have a couple of courts and amazingly there was always one free when we wanted to play

One week wasn’t enough but after a week socializing with friends in Naples, it was certainly a relaxing way to end our trip.  Another time we would spend a day or two checking out Apalachicola which looked an attractive little town.  We may well be back in contact for another trip next spring!
We found the condo to be very well supplied and very clean and inviting
Hi Wendy,  We really enjoyed our short stay at 128 Sabal.  Wish we had been able to stay longer.  We did pack a lot of activities in, tho, including a campfire on the beach to make s’mores.  Kids and dogs loved it.
This trip was short, so we didn’t cook in.  We ate at at Dockside Raw Bar (a pet-friendly restaurant at Port St. Joe),  Indian Pass Raw Bar, and  Cone Heads.  The Cape Trading Post was a great place to get S’mores supplies including a “starter” log which made an adequate fire to roast marshmallows, and also a long handled roasting fork.   Cone Heads is also the place for really good ice cream cones.

We found the condo to be very well supplied and very clean and inviting.  The beach chairs and surfer board were great, too.  We certainly do plan to revisit possibility in the spring.  Thank you for making our stay so perfect.
Returning Guests: Clean & comfortable. We'll be back again!
We are return guests to Waters Edge because of the convenient location to the beach which is a very short walk and it is a comfortable, clean condo.  We really like the tile through out the condo that improves the "clean feel" of a beach condo.  It's also beneficial that they have a gas grill at the condo plus beach chairs and a cart to save on the packing space.  Barrier Dunes is also a great beach location on the cape!
Wonderful! We will be back!
Hey Wendy , We had a fabulous time at the Cape.  The unit was very nice and clean. We will come back.
GREAT! Will Use again for future stays!

“Wendy’s place was great! She responded immediately to all our questions and was a great host! House was clean, check in easy, and she provided all the information needed for a great stay! Will use again for future stays at CSB! ”
Praying that the storm does not destroy your beautiful properties.
Thank you for letting us experience such a beautiful place.
Cape San Blas is the Comeback Coast!
We stayed at the Water's Edge unit in Barrier Dunes in April/May 2019. The townhome had everything we needed and was very clean. Barrier Dunes has recovered after the hurricane #capestrong. We've been staying at the Cape for 10 years and the beach is as beautiful as we remember it. The water was inviting and the pool was perfect for afternoon relaxing. Make sure you stop by Weber's Donuts for some delicious homemade donuts in the morning. The Trading Post is stocked with essentials if you don't want to leave the Cape. We walked down the beach to find the Donna Kay fishing boat. It's maybe 1-2 miles south of the Stumphole (rocks). There were a lot of shells to find along the way. The road is almost finished with repairs and we had no problem passing to and from. It's dark at night, perfect for stargazing and seeing the Milky Way. Stop at Coneheads for ice cream and a meal. It's right on the Cape and has delicious food. St Joseph Peninsula State Park is still beautiful and is worth a day trip. It's literally down the road from Barrier Dunes. Port St. Joe is just a 25 minute drive from Barrier Dunes. There are several shops and boutiques on Reid Street to explore. There is a Farmer's Market the first and third Saturdays at the end of Reid Street. Piggly Wiggly has everything you need from groceries to souvenirs. We were pleasantly surprised to find Olive Garden salad dressing and the coconut water we like. Pepper's is good Mexican style food and Provisions has good sandwiches and pasta. We absolutely love the Cape and can't wait to go back. We're already planning our next trip to the Comeback Coast!
STEPS to the beach access, well-stocked & clean! We will be back soon!

When our original vacation plans were sidetracked by Hurricane Dorian, we had to scramble to salvage a quick, end of summer trip. Fortunately for us, I came across Wendy Jackson, owner of Wendy's Cape Escape - a rental agency offering nearly a dozen properties. Wendy was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. From the time I initially contacted her about a rental, up until her follow up email making sure we enjoyed our stay, she has been thorough, courteous, and friendly.

The condo was very clean and situated just steps from beach access. Additionally, Wendy stocked the condo with a number of necessary items - everything from paper goods to beach equipment to towels specifically labeled for your dog - all of which came in very handy. We loved being able to bring our dog to the pet-friendly condo, as well as the pet-friendly beaches. However, if for some reason you aren't an animal lover, you would never know that dogs had previously been in the unit.

Lastly, the Cape is absolutely back open for business and welcoming your tourist dollar. The beach next to the condo was in excellent shape, and just as beautiful as it had been prior to Michael. While Mexico Beach has a long road ahead, both Port Saint Joe and Apalachicola have numerous dining options and are within a reasonable drive of the condo. During our stay, we were able to go to dinner in both towns and still make it back in plenty of time before our 2 year old daughter got cranky! If you don't want to venture as far, the Cape has options as well. There's no reason to have any trepidation when planning a trip to the Forgotten Coast at this point.

I'd highly recommend you contact Wendy and Wendy's Cape Escape when you do. We will be back soon!
Attention to detail made this home great!

We had a great weekend at Waters Edge. I’ve stayed at a lot of rental houses on the Gulf and this one was one of the best prepared, well stocked kitchen supplies, plenty of towels, cleaning supplies, and great information book for all of the local and property details.

Thanks for the attention to detail (and the prefect weather!).
We will be back to enjoy Cape San Blas & Waters Edge soon!

Had a wonderful time and will for sure return very soon ... everything was available that we needed and the location was perfect...our dog babies had a great time and we are so thankful to you for allowing them all to come along, next time hopefully we will only have one or two as planned.....
